WOULD YOU LIKE TO BOOK THOM RING to speak at your school, library, youth organization or event? He'd be happy to read from his books, talk about writing these books or writing in general, or discuss what you need to learn in school to be a competitive racer.

Simply send an email to this website with information about your group or organization, how you see Thom Ring can help its mission, and what sort of timeframe you have in mind. Thom will get in touch with you personally.

Please note that this schedule is subject to change without notice, by others as well as me. Additionally, appearances at all outdoor events are weather permitting. Look to "THE BLOG" page on this site or to Facebook for updates.

Rhode Island Authors Expo

 —  —

Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, 60 Rhodes Place, Cranston, RI

For the seventh consecutive year, Rhode Island authors of every genre will be signing and selling books. There will be plenty of books that will interest boys, including Thom's (his books, not his boys), and other sports-focused works - as well as a host of fantasy-adventures for the kids into that. Better than that, Thom's been asked to be part of a panel discussing writing about sports, including fiction, of course. That'll likely include sports reading as well as writing.

30th Annual Bud ‘King of Beers’ 150

Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, 205 East Thompson Rd., Thompson, CT.

Thompson's mid-summer staple, the Bud ‘King of Beers’ 150 hosts NASCAR's Modifieds and NEMA's midgets (yes!) as well as Thompson's own Sunoco Modifieds and Lite Mods, plus its Late Models, Limited Sportsmen and Mini Stocks, for a mid-summer, mid-week show. Look for me on the midway opposite the concessions, I'll have the books of the RED RACECAR series, the complete SPEED READER series, and RING AROUND RACING, a collection of my best and most newsworthy feature stories and newspaper-columns. I also hope to bring a few important books from my collection of vintage racing literature, including some rare publications it's time to share with others.

Woonsocket Public Library, 303 Clinton St., Woonsocket, RI

This is a rare library visit, as libraries can be scary places when you're still thinking books are evils foisted upon kids to teach them grownup lessons. And not grownup lessons about going fast in a racecar!
