I always muse about what racecars will be in the future. And here I go again.
I mean, I’ve been wondering about the future of stock cars. I’m talking about street stocks in particular. You used to just go to the boneyard, pull a Camaro or Monte Carlo out of the weeds, and build yourself a racecar. That’s gotten harder over the years, you might have noticed.
A few tracks made an effort to do something with Rabbits, Civics, and the like, but nothing seemed to stick. And won’t, because who’s driving the 21st-century likes of Rabbits and Civics? Never mind the cars. How will electric power affect Saturday-night shows?
Most new-car sales ain’t for cars, even. Do we have hordes of banging SUVs to look forward to? Will they need to put in jumps?
